Blue Hour is a Los Angeles-based apothecary and creative studio rooted in herbalism, artistry, and connection to the natural world. Through our tea truck, plant-dye workshops, and community gatherings, we create experiences that invite people to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover a sense of wonder in everyday life.
Inspired by the magic of the blue hour, the transition between day and night, our work celebrates creativity, reciprocity with the Earth, and the beauty of living more intentionally. From herbal teas and nourishing treats to hands-on creative experiences, everything we offer is designed to foster presence, play, and meaningful community.

Hi,
I’m Maria Fernanda! I’m originally from Mexico, but I’ve been a lifelong LA native, having grown up in the San Fernando Valley. My journey into herbalism was purely accidental. After studying Political Science and Technology Management at UC Santa Barbara and working briefly in Washington D.C., I graduated in the middle of the pandemic, feeling disillusioned, burned out, and stressed.
What began as a curiosity for natural dye during quarantine quickly grew into a deeper passion for herbalism, self-care, and creative connection. Through the Blue Hour ApoTEAcary, I now weave together tea, natural dye, and community experiences that help Angelenos reconnect with nature, creativity, and a sense of wonder in everyday life.
You can find our tea truck at the Southern California Flower Market serving herbal teas, coffees, natural juices, and nourishing bites, or join us for a plant dye workshop to explore the beauty of working with natural colors & plants!
